The idea for this app came from food delivery apps and services. There was a niche and a requirement for online grocery delivery services.
So we created an app that solely delivers users grocery and general food items.

User Research
I conducted interviews and made research insight charts to understand the users I'm designing for and their needs.
A primary user group identified through research were people who wanted a one stop solution for devices which use apple’s homekit framework and all the other frameworks all under one roof with a desktop client, a mobile and a tablet app.
Another set of target users identified later were smart home appliances owners who wanted to track their energy consumptions
The Problem
Busy workers and students lack the time To get their groceries.
The Solution
To create an app that delivers grocery and other daily essentials at your doorstep

Following Feedback was collected -
-
users were finding it difficult to go back to the main menu after going to item information page, user needs better navigational cues for them to go back to the main menu.
-
users found it frustrating to go back and forth the menu and the cart every time they added an item to the cart , a new cart button to be added which redirects you to cart instead to the app switching to cart every time an item is added.
-
user wanted to review their order one more time before making the final payment, there should be a final review page before the user gets redirected to the payment portal.
-
users haven’t found a way to access previous order lists, an order list should be maintained for users to see their last placed orders.
-
users want a recurring or favourites item list , making a feature which allows you to put items in your favourite list and have them for scheduled daily/weekly or monthly delivery .
After doing usability study and further research gatherings, more features and pages were added to make the app seem more informative and complete in terms of a user’s journey.
User's flow when ordering an item

Final Screens for the Mobile User flow
Easily Delete Added Items From Your Cart With A Swipe
Toggle Between Light And Dark Mode
Swipe From Light To Right To Back To The Previous Page
Contextual Popup Cards
Next steps
The app could help remove one mundane but one of the important task from a user’s life and spare time for them to do more productive things.
Being my first UX project, it was really exciting to see how things come together as a whole and how things interact with each other. Usability studies and testing makes a lot of difference in improving the app.
-
Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points users experienced have been effectively addressed.
-
Improve Dark mode UI.
-
Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.
-
Explore more User flows
